I guess when you’ve really learned to love yourself more than your significant other, things fall into place perfectly without you having to clasp it and place it to where it should be…
I used to have this sickness that I put others on top of my list before myself. I mean you cannot blame me because that was what I’ve learned in kindergarten. My teachers would always remind us to be selfless and to give more to others. I didn’t know that I was taking it the wrong way, that being selfless has limitations, that it doesn’t mean you would also give your self-respect away.
I grew up with this sickening lesson ringing in my head, until I fell in love, got burned twice, still believed, got tired, gave up, fell out of love, learned a lesson – stick it into my pipe and smoked it, loved myself and fell in love again.
Now I know what selflessness means ----------- loving yourself while giving your 101% to others.
